Veytharisch - semantics and pragmatics

Veytharian is less neutral than Veyrathi and carries stronger signals of affiliation.
Those who speak Veythar often mark origins, ties, loyalty or situational proximity.
In trade and administration, people often switch between Veyrathi and Veythar: facts and standards in Veyrathi, attitude and commitment in Veythar.

Pronoun choice

sae remains the safe neutral form for strangers, unclear situations and official speech.
More specific person forms such as nor, thae or ish appear closer, more precise and more socially integrated.
The change from sae to a specific form can already be read in dialogues as a relationship signal.

The definite article ae is more common than in Veyrathi and often marks not only definitiveness but shared situational knowledge.
Zero articles occur, but appear more concise, poetic or protocol-like.
In legal language, ae strongly binds speakers to the discourse and is deliberately used accordingly.

The na construction encodes not only ownership, but also origin, responsibility and institutional ties:
ae thal na saem = the person's advice / advice assigned to the person
ae verun na talen = the city's port
Attributive possessives without na sound denser and more formal:

saen kevar

Elimination of articles, greater sound reduction and shorter verb forms have a coastal and everyday effect.
In oaths, oaths and council speeches, old cognates and conservative compounds are intentionally preserved to signal tradition.

Veytharisch seems more personal, dense and socially marked than Veyrathi.
Where Veyrathi sounds transparent and learning-friendly, Veytharisch sounds more binding, local and emotionally closer.
