Veytharisch - Crown and administrative terminology

Target

This chapter expands High Veytharian to include monarchical, courtly and administrative lexicon. The new forms are consciously built from existing roots of the Veyatic language family and avoid direct earthly leanings.

Family logic

The terminology is based on two sources at the same time:

  • older, clearly inherited roots such as thal / thalar for advice, veth / vethan for law, jor- for binding and order, wer- for writing and drun for house and institutional building
  • younger West Veyatic state roots, which are already well documented in Veyrathi and are regularly continued in Veythar, such as ther-, niv-, gar-, zan- and vez-

Important formal rules remain the same as in the rest of Veythar:

  • Veyrathi -ath often appears in Veythar as -eth
  • Verbs in Veyrathi--a become Veytharisch--en
  • open forms of administration and government tend to be more compact and consonant in Veythar

Semantic guidelines

  • vezeth means first the bundled priority of the office. The material crown as an object is only a secondary sign of this.
  • joreth is stronger than just German "Ordung". The word carries the idea of a bound, legitimized state situation.
  • niveth does not refer to any administration, but to a directed and ranked line.
  • vezeth-drun and wereth-drun consciously avoid human-feudal loyalty. The institutions are understood as house and written bodies.
  • -naar serves in the Crown Registry not only for the entire homeworld, but also as head for large bound territories. This makes provincial types sound like landscapes rather than imported administrative titles.

Examples of use

  • Ae vezeth-thal ther ae naar-veth. = The Privy Council decides the imperial law.
  • Ae nivar wer ae veth-wereth ke ae wereth-drun. = The governor writes the decree in the office.
  • Senae ae gareth veden ae soveth-drun. = Today the Guard is closing the audience house.
  • Ae vezar veir ae vezeth-kevar. = The crown bearer speaks the oath of elevation.
  • Ae Savir-verun ae verun-naar is. = Savir-verun is a maritime core province.
  • Ae Draes-selar ae selar-naar is. = Draes-selar is a brand country.

Differentiation from Veyrathi

Veyrathi prefers more open and institutionally smooth forms such as thalor-jorath, nivath, garath or vethan. Veytharisch condenses the same fields into more compact, sharper-ranked forms such as joreth, niveth, gareth and veth.

Especially for the monarchy and court, Veythar appears narrower, older and steeper. It sounds less like an open council and more like a tied leadership, architecture and final decision.
